Brennan Kitchen came up big, stopping 17 of 18 shots throughout the game. The Navan Grads took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Wil Murray.
Wil Murray chipped in with 2 goals and Michael Locatelli contributed with 2 assists. Alex Robert had a busy night with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Trevor Coykendall delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first period, Coykendall opened the scoring for Rockland with a goal at 5:05 with helpers from Keating and Robert. Murray answered for the Grads with a goal at 16:25 with helpers from his linemates, Barban and Locatelli.
In the second, Robert answered for the Nationals with a goal at 17:22 with assists from Coykendall and Keating.
In the third, Chartrand answered for the Grads with a goal at 1:10 with a helper from Fabbro. Murray put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:35 with assists from his teammates Locatelli and Osburn.
Navan’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Kitchen’s big night as he stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced. Kitchen’s counterpart, Storr, also had a big night, managing to stop 38 of 41, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Navan Grads’ record to (2-2-0-0).
