GRADS ACQUIRE NICO PAONE FROM THE FORT ERIE METEORS

NAVAN, ON – The Navan Grads of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are proud to announce the acquisition of 2003 born defenseman Nico Paone from the Fort Erie Meteors Jr. B Hockey Club of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL).

Paone finished 2nd overall in 2003 scoring for defensemen with 7 goals, 20 assists and 27 points in 49 games played; he added 2 goals, 2 assists and 4 points in 5 playoff games for Fort Erie. He was selected to play for Team McClement at the GOJHL Future Stars game.

The Niagara Falls, Ontario native was a member of the Southern Tier Admirals during his Minor Midget AAA season.  Paone recorded 6 goals, 14 assists & 20 points in 32 games and was drafted in the 12th round of the Ontario Hockey League by the Peterborough Petes.

General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams said, “Nico has tremendous mobility and offensive instincts. Great hockey sense with strong compete level to his game. We are expecting Nico to make an immediate contribution in the CCHL."
