DEFENSEMAN OWAIN JOHNSTON SIGNS WITH THE GRADS
NAVAN, ON – The Navan Grads of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are proud to announce the signing of 2003 born defenseman Owain Johnston from the North York Rangers in the GTHL.
In 2019-2020, Johnston registered 3 goals, 8 assists & 11 points as a key member of the North York Rangers U18 (GTHL) and played 10 games as an affiliate player with the North York Rangers Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).
In 2018-2019, Johnston was a member of the Mississauga Rebels U16 (GTHL) and was selected in the 11th round by the Erie Otters in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft.
General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams said, “The Navan Grads are thrilled that Owain and his family has chosen to come to our program. His mobility and high hockey IQ will be a huge asset as he makes his way in the CCHL. We look forward to assisting Owain in his development this season.”
