The Grads defeat the 73's 6-4

Joseph Giacobbo came up big, stopping 15 of 19 shots throughout the game. The Navan Grads took the lead late in the third on a goal from Zachary Salloum 'c'.

Zachary Salloum ‘c’delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Wil Murray chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Joe Mcgrath did his part, adding 2 assists and Garrett Meyer contributed with 2 assists.

In the first period, Taillon opened the scoring for the 73’s with a goal at 0:58 with helpers from his linemates, Mcgrath and Meyer. Locatelli ‘a’answered for the Grads with a goal at 5:23 with helpers from his linemates, Haymes and Murray. Fabbro netted a goal at 10:46 with assists from his teammates Salloum ‘c’ and Haymes. Pickering put in a goal at 14:19 with helpers from Salloum ‘c’ and Dekemp.

In the second period, Patterson answered for Kemptville with a goal at 3:14 with assists from Mcgrath and Meyer. Macdonald quickly followed with a goal at 5:04 with helpers from Faith and Fry. Beaton put in a goal at 12:44 with assists from his linemates, Conley and Domitrovic. Dekemp answered for Navan with a goal at 17:50 with helpers from Besner ‘a’ and Locatelli ‘a’.

In the third period, Salloum ‘c’scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:56 with an assist from Locatelli ‘a’. Murray netted a goal at 19:25 with a helper from defenseman Raby ‘a’.

Navan’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Giacobbo’s big night as he stopped 15 of the 19 shots he faced. Giacobbo’s counterpart, Lukenda, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 34, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Navan Grads’ record to (8-16-0-0).
