Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce the Source for Sports Performers of the month for January.
Nico Paone of Navan Grads is the Skater of the Month. Jacob Biron of the Kemptville 73’s earned Goaltender of the Month. Ethan Smith of the Renfrew Wolves received Rookie of the Month.
Skater of the Month | Nico Paone
The 2003 born in Niagara Falls, ON has played 16 games this season so far with the Navan Grads. Earning a total of 27 points (9G, 18A), 22 of those points coming from the month of January. To contribute to the Grads coming in at number one in the league. Paone was also named week 17’s Source for Sports Player of the Week.
Goaltender of the Month | Jacob Biron
The 2004 goaltender born in East Aurora, NY has been in net for 35 games this season for the 73’s with a record of 16-15-1. Currently Biron is at a 0.910 SV% and a 2.75 GAA. With Biron’s goaltending abilities, the 73’s are currently sitting in eighth in the league. Biron has also commited to NCAA Army West Point for the 2024-25 season.
Rookie of the Month | Ethan Smith
The 2006 born in Stittsville, ON is currently playing in his first season in the CCHL for the Renfrew Wolves. This season, Smith has played 35 games earning 19 points (9G, 10G), 11 points coming in the month of January. To contribute to the Wolves coming in at number five in the league overall.
