The Navan Grads defeated the Cornwall Colts 3-1 on Friday night at Navan Memorial Centre. Navan opened the scoring at 8:23 of the first period on a goal by Noah Carpenter, assisted by Nathan Hargest and Cristobal Tola. The score remained 1-0 Navan after 40 minutes of play. In the third period, Colin MacDougall extended the Grads lead to 2-0 when he buried a pass from Sebbie Johnson; Cristobal Tola picked up the other assist. The Colts cut the lead to 2-1 at 17:50 of the third period but the Grads added an empty net goal by Gabriel Crete to secure the 3-1 win. Grads goaltender Braxton Castagno made 30/31 saves for the win.
