Recap | CCHL Yzerman Wins Eastern Canada Cup Challenge

Ottawa, ON – Wednesday evening was the wrap up for the 2023 Eastern Canada Cup that took place in Trenton, ON. The first game of the semifinals, CCHL Yzerman won 3-2. Next semifinal game, CCHL Robinson took a tough loss 2-1. CCHL Yzerman went to the finals and after five shootout rounds, came out on top winning 3-2.

Brayden Bowen (Cornwall Colts) opened up the first period for CCHL Yzerman. Remi Gelinas (Hawkesbury Hawks) gets two goals to end off the first period and the semifinal CCHL Yzerman goals. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson (Navan Grads) makes 18-saves.

Semifinal | F | CCHL Robinson 1 OJHL Hawerchuk 2

Ty Whyte (Kemptville 73’s) gets the first and only goal for CCHL Robinson in the second period. Goaltender Kevin Jones (Pembroke Lumber Kings) makes 13-saves.

Cup Final | CCHL Yzerman 3 OJHL Hawerchuk 2 (SO)

Benjamin Albright (Ottawa Junior Senators) starts out the first period for CCHL Yzerman. In the second period Gabriel Crete (Navan Grads) with a one-timer to the back of the net. In the fifth round of the shootout, Cristobal Tola (Navan Grads) secures the Eastern Canada Cup win for CCHL Yzerman. Goaltender Donald Hickey (Cornwall Colts) makes 16-saves.
