TY HOLLETT INKS OHL CONTRACT WITH THE NORTH BAY BATTALION

Navan, ON – The Navan Grads Junior A Hockey Club and the Central Canada Hockey League are proud to announce that defenseman Ty Hollett has signed an OHL Contract with the North Bay Battalion.  The 2003 born Orleans, ON native is in his first season with the Grads after spending last season with the Navan Grads U18 program in the HEO Midget AAA. In 45 career games with Navan U18, Hollett had 4 goals, 18 assists and 22 points.

The North Bay Battalion selected the 6’04, 200lbs right-shot defender in the fourth round, 64th overall in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft.  In July, Hollett was amongst 45 OHL prospects selected to attend Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp in Calgary, AB.

Navan Grads General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams said, “We are pleased to announce that Ty has signed with the North Bay Battalion. As a graduate of our Grads U18 program his development has been phenomenal and we expect that to continue this season in the CCHL. We are excited to have Ty as a part of our program and expect big things from him this season.”

Hollett said, “I had a tremendous experience at North Bay’s training camp in August and the coaching staff and players were very welcoming. What impressed me the most was getting to do the pregame skates and sharing a billet with veteran Luc Moncada.”

Hollett added, “I feel the OHL is the best route for me because my ultimate goal is to play in the National Hockey League one day; and I feel North Bay will give me the best opportunity to get there. I am very excited to join the Battalion family and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.”

With the signing of Ty Hollett to North Bay and the NCAA commitment of Gabriel Crete to Colgate University both 16-year-old players (2003) on the Grads roster have made significant strides in their hockey future. Well done!
