RELEASE | 2022 CCHL BANTAM DRAFT ANNOUNCED FOR APRIL 20TH

OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League has confirmed its draft of 2007 birth players residing in HEO territory and playing in HEO leagues will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 4:00 pm.

It was also decided to conduct the draft virtually to allow teams to focus on both their selections and the CCHL playoffs which begin April 12, 2022.  Teams will contact their selected players and the selections can be found at www.thecchl.ca and our various social media platforms.

Players residing over 65 km from any team may not be selected without their consent ensuring that the vast majority of players remain with programs close to their residence

The HEO U18 AAA league has provided dozens of OHL players, including 4 first round selections in each of the past two drafts. Former first rounder Mason McTavish was selected 3rd overall by the Anaheim Ducks and played for Canada at both the World Junior Championship and in the Olympics as an 18 year old player, Canada’s youngest hockey playing Olympian.  This season three players are projected to be early selections in the OHL draft once again.
