Sean Blunden, U18 Head Coach
Navan, ON – The Navan Grads Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club are pleased to announce the hiring of Sean Blunden as Head Coach of the Navan Grads U18 Hockey Club.
Sean comes to the Grads having served as an Assistant and Head Coach with the Hawkesbury Hawks U18 program for the past three seasons, earning 2 semi-final finishes and 1 final finish, along with qualifying for the East Regional Telus Cup in 2017-2018 season. Sean was also granted one of the two All Star teams last season with the Ottawa Capitals where they won 2 of the 3 tournaments they participated in (Clarkson and Peterborough) and a Final 8 finish at the Marlies Holiday Classic.
Prior to Sean’s coaching career, he was drafted in the Ontario Hockey League by the Owen Sound Attack, he went on to play 5 seasons in the CCHL from 2006-2011 with the Gloucester Rangers and Cornwall Colts. During his career Sean was one of the top 5 scorers for defenceman in his last 3 seasons in the CCHL and earned Second and Third All Star team recognitions in those seasons. Sean then went on and played 4 seasons with the Concordia Stingers in the OUA.

Jacob Laliberte, U18 Assistant Coach
Navan, ON – The Navan Grads Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club are pleased to announce the hiring of Jacob Laliberte as Assistant Coach of the Navan Grads U18 Hockey Club.
Jacob comes to the Grads having served as an Assistant Coach of the Hawkesbury Hawks U18 program last season. Navan Grads U18 General Manager Marty Abrams had this to say about the addition of Laliberte to the U18 program, “We are excited to have Jacob join our Grads Coaching Staff. He brings a wealth of knowledge from both the playing and coaching side of the game and he works extremely well with Coach Blunden. It’s a great addition to our program.”
Prior to Jacob’s coaching career, he spent five seasons as a player in the CCHL. In 214 games played in the CCHL, Jacob registered 149 goals, 151 assists and 300 points as a member of the Hawkesbury Hawks, Pembroke Lumber Kings and the Cornwall Colts. Jacob competed in the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge as a member of Team Canada East in 2008-09 and 2009-2010; was named CCHL Most Valuable Player in his final season as Captain of the Cornwall Colts; and earned a NCAA Division I scholarship to Rensselaer Polytech Institute in Troy, NY. After graduating and earning a degree from RPI, Laliberte spent three seasons playing professional hockey in Europe.
