GRADS SKATE TO A 5-1 WIN OVER THE KEMPTVILLE 73'S
Navan, ON - The Navan Grads defeated the Kemptville 73's by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday night in Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) preseason action.
First Period:
- Navan opened the scoring on the power play from Ian Ramsay at 5:38, assisted by Jake McIntosh and Brody Bess.
- Kemptville responded with a goal from Emile Trottier at 9:48, tying the game 1-1.
- Navan regained the lead with a goal by Walty Pedersen at 13:07, assisted by Cole Jenken and Shaan Kingwell.
- The Grads extended their lead with a goal by Sebbie Johnson at 16:07, assisted by Shaan Kingwell (2) and Noah Carpenter, making it 3-1 after the opening period.
Third Period:
- After a scoreless second period, Navan made it 4-1 with a goal from Brody Bess at 5:50, assisted by 2008 forwards Asher Goldfarb and Vincent Latreille.
- The final goal came from Sebbie Johnson (2) at 19:52, assisted by Mathieu Fehr and Shaan Kingwell (3), sealing the 5-1 victory for the Grads.
Goaltending:
- Tomas Gagne was stellar in net for Navan making 25 saves.
- Goaltenders Sammy Malholtra 18/21 saves, Ryland Donovan 8/8 saves and Trenten Bennett 8/10 saves for the Kemptville 73's.
The Navan Grads and Kemptville 73's will faceoff again on Friday night at Navan Memorial Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30PM.
