GAME RECAP: Navan Grads vs. Nepean Raiders
Ottawa, ON — All 12 teams faced off across the CCHL on Family Day, many of which featured Skates with the Team after the game.
Navan 3, Kemptville 1
Navan secured a 3-1 victory over Kemptville in a hard-fought matchup. The game remained scoreless through the first period, with both teams generating chances but unable to capitalize. Navan broke the deadlock early in the second, as Ramsay found the back of the net at 3:05. Kemptville responded quickly with Graves tying the game at 6:40, assisted by Trottier and Sweetapple. However, Navan regained the lead at 11:27 when Purdy scored, with Carpenter and Kussmann earning assists. In the final minute of the game, Johnson added an empty-netter at 19:19 to seal the victory. Despite strong efforts by Kemptville, including a flurry of shots in the second and third periods, Navan’s Hodgins stood tall, stopping 38 of 39 shots. Kemptville’s Bennett also played a strong game in net, recording 38 saves on 40 shots.
