GRADS ACQUIRE ALEXANDRE HOGUE FROM THE GATINEAU OLYMPIQUES

NAVAN, ON – The Navan Grads of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are proud to announce they have acquired 2001 born defenseman Alexandre Hogue from the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Hogue, a native of Embrun, Ontario, registered 4 goals, 14 assists and 18 points in 54 games played for Gatineau in 2019-2020. Prior to his time in Gatineau, Hogue played two full seasons as a member of the Sarnia Sting and recorded 5 goals, 8 assists and 13 points in 85 games played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

A graduate of the Navan Grads U18 program (formerly the Cumberland Grads U18); in 45 games with the Grads the offensive defenseman posted 14 goals and 33 assists for a total of 47 points. Hogue’s strong U18 season did not go unnoticed as he was named Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) player of the year, HEOMAAA Top defenceman and was selected by the Sarnia Sting with the 37th overall pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams said, “To be able to add a player of Alex’s caliber is a tremendous boost to our program. He will be a big part of our team with his experience and leadership skills this season. Everyone connected with our program is excited to see Alex in our lineup this season. It’s a very exciting addition.”
