GRADS ROLL TO THREE STRAIGHT WINS

NAVAN, ON - The 2021-2022 Central Canada Hockey League regular season resumed this past week and the Navan Grads (17-10-1-0) showed no signs of rust, as they skated their way to three consecutives wins this week.

On Wednesday night, the Grads travelled to Nepean and defeated the Raiders by a score of 8-4. Forward Ryan Burke led the charge offensively, collecting 2 goals and 2 assists and linemate Owen Parsons added 2 goals in Grads first win of the 2022 CCHL schedule; third-year forward Blake Butler (1g), Aidan Puley (1g), Justin Louette (1g) and Devyn Orpana (1g) rounded out the Grads scoring and defenseman Alexandre Hogue had 3 assists; while Cayden Faust & Calum Chau had 2 assists each. Goaltender Ben West made 27 saves in net for the win.

On Friday night at Navan Memorial Centre & Arena the Grads soared to a 10-2 win in the second half of a home and home with the Nepean Raiders. Forward Cayden Faust recorded his first career CCHL Hat Trick while defenseman Calum Chau and captain Devyn Orpana registered 2 goals and 2 assists a piece. Gabriel Crete (1g/3a), and defensemen Justin Louette and Joseph Ianniello had 1 goal each. Goaltender Ben West made 26 saves in net for the win.

On Sunday afternoon, the Grads put together their best performance of the week and earned a hard fought 5-2 win over the Kemptville 73's. Defenseman Calum Chau continued to have the hot stick and recorded his 2nd straight 4-point game (2g/2a); forward Alec Lovisek had 1 goal & 2 assists, Blake Hall had 1 goal and defenseman Justin Louette had the game winning goal for the third consecutive game for the Grads. Goaltender Carter Garvie earned his 1st career CCHL win with his 25 save performance and awarded the "Nicky Award" for his efforts.

The Grads will get back to work this week in practice and their next game is on Friday when they travel to Carleton Place to faceoff against the Canadians at 7:30PM.
