GRADS HIRE SEAN BAMFORD AS ASSISTANT COACH

NAVAN, ON – The Navan Grads of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are proud to announce we have hired Sean Bamford as Assistant Coach for the 2020-2021 season.

The 29-year-old, Ottawa, Ontario native joins the Grads after serving as an Assistant Coach and Academic Advisor with the Nepean Raiders (CCHL) the past three seasons. In 2016, Sean travelled to Beijing, China to mentor young players and help grow the game of hockey overseas.

Prior to Sean’s coaching career, Grads fans will remember Bamford as a player for the Cumberland Grads from 2009-2010 to 2011-2012.  A proud member of the Grads alumni, Sean played in 179 career CCHL games, registering 49 goals, 46 assists and 95 points over three seasons.

Sean played four seasons for the Carleton University Ravens (USports) and graduated in 2017 with Bachelor’s degree in Law and a secondary focus on Business Studies.

General Manager and Head Coach, Marty Abrams said, “We are thrilled to welcome Sean back to our program. He brings an exciting mix to the fold, as a former USports, CCHL and Grads alumni. Sean also has a very solid coaching resume, highly respected and knows the CCHL very well.  This is a very positive step for our program moving forward. “
