DANYK DROUIN COMMITS TO UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA

NAVAN, ON – The Navan Grads of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are proud to announce that forward Danyk Drouin (’01) has committed to University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Gee Gees Men’s Hockey Club (USPORTS) for the 2022-2023 season.

Drouin, a native of Casselman, Ontario excelled in his final season of junior eligibility with the Navan Grads. The veteran forward registered 13 goals, 38 assists and 51 points in 52 games played in the 2021-2022 CCHL season. A leader by example, Drouin was named an Assistant Captain this past season and was named to the 2021-2022 CCHL All-Star team that faced off against the Ottawa Gee Gee’s Men’s Hockey Club.

Prior to being acquired by the Navan Grads two years ago, Drouin split time during the 2019-2020 season between the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) and the Caledonia Corvairs of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL); Drouin recorded 11 goals, 37 assists and 48 points in 32 games for Caledonia.

Drouin was a drafted in the 13th Round of the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft by the Oshawa Generals. In 2018-2019 he suited up for 33 games with the Generals.

General Manager & Head Coach Marty Abrams offered his congratulations to Drouin on his commitment to University of Ottawa, “Our entire organization is proud of Danyk's commitment to the University of Ottawa. He's the kind of player you on the ice in all key situations and comes ready to play every night. I have no doubt he will continue his 200-foot game with the Gee Gees and look forward to following his progress. It was a pleasure having Danyk and his family in our program and wish him all the best in the future."
