Chris Barlas @NavanGradsAAA
Two-way C who makes the players around him better. Loves going to the dirty areas and playing with an edge. Smooth & shifty skater who uses his edges well. Tons of hockey sense. A nice takeaway & primary assist seen here. #OHLDraft pic.twitter.com/YaeatXHppk

#88 Chris Barlas | Prospects by Sports Illustrated - Click Here
"An electrifying prospect. Christopher Barlas has star potential written all over him. A top end forward, Barlas excels at every facet of the game. Barlas lives and breathes the game of hockey, taking the notion of passion to borderline obsession. Barlas has an elite hockey IQ, making smart and effective plays consistently. With his high IQ, Barlas makes all of the players around him improve. Barlas finds ample opportunities to make plays for his linemates by drawing such heavy attention from the opposition. Barlas’ high IQ along with his fantastic skating ability allows him to play at a high paced speed, making him difficult to stop in the offensive zone. Barlas is an unquestionably creative player, able to make shots and opportunities for himself and others with ease. While Barlas has fantastic playmaking abilities, his scoring ability is what has set him apart from many other prospects. With a breakneck speed release, coupled with the bullet speed velocity behind it, Barlas terrorizes goalies wherever he plays as nobody seems to have an answer for the young forwards shot. Barlas can score in a plethora of ways, all at an elite level of pace. With defenses struggling to keep up with him, Barlas is able to blast clean looks in stride with high efficiency. With tremendous skill Barlas can get the job done on both ends of the ice. Barlas never quits on a shift with an undying motor, Barlas simply just does not stop until the final whistle sounds. Barlas plays well above his current skill level, showing signs that he is ready to make the jump straight into the junior level. Barlas has gained a massive amount of attention from scouts and coaches at the junior level which he rightfully deserves. Barlas has all the fixings to become an elite level talent wherever he may end up. Regardless of the situation, Barlas is as good as it gets."
