CCHL DRAFT RECAP | GRADS RELOAD ON DAY 1

2021 CCHL BANTAM DRAFT – GRADS SELECT NATHAN VILLENEUVE IN 1ST RD; SELECT BEN CORMIER IN 2ND RD.

The 2021 Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) Bantam Protect Draft began Tuesday, March 16th entirely online for the first time in league history.  After day one, the Navan Grads are thrilled to welcome 8 new players to our organization.

Here is a quick look at who General Manager & Head Coach Marty Abrams and company brought into the Grads family on day one of the draft:

 

Navan Grads 1st Round Selection: #89 Nathan Villeneuve (LC), 5-foot-11, 182lbs,  Ottawa Jr. 67's

“We would like to welcome Nathan and his family to the Grads organization. Over the years Nathan has proven to be a dominant player in his age group and we expect him to continue that trend next season. A versatile and complete 200-foot player, we are excited to watch and contribute to Nathan’s development next season.”

Navan Grads 2nd Round Selection: #86 Ben Cormier (LSF), 5-foot-11, 175lbs,  Ottawa Jr. 67's

“The Navan Grads are thrilled to add Ben and his family to our program. Ben is a high compete player who has a great hockey IQ and ability to make plays. Ben leads by example with high character player who makes his teammates better; we look forward to assisting in Ben’s development next season at the U18 level.”

Navan Grads: 3rd pick, 4th Round Selection: #5 Luke Moore (LD), 5-foot-11, 150lbs,  Ottawa Jr. 67's

“The Navan Grads are thrilled to add Luke and his family to our program. Luke is a highly regarded player both on and off the ice by his coaches and teammates. Luke is an intelligent, mobile defender that plays his best under pressure. Luke is the Team Captain of the Ottawa Jr. 67's and heavily relied upon to play in all situations. We are excited to assist Luke in his development at the U18 level next season."

“The Navan Grads are thrilled to welcome Aidan and his family to our program. Aidan is a highly mobile, offensive-minded defenseman. He makes an excellent first pass, possesses a heavy shot from the point and the ability to play in all situations. It's great to add a player of Aidan's caliber who hails from Navan, Ontario and we are excited to be a part of Aidan's development at the U18 level next season."

Nathan is another strong, power-forward for the 67's that possesses a heavy shot and good speed.  He is s smart player, with a great work ethic that allows him to contribute in all situations at both ends of the ice. We were impressed with his performance at the CCHL 2006 Showcase and look forward to watching his development at the U18 level next season."
