BLAKE HALL HAT TRICK LEADS GRADS TO 4-1 WIN OVER BEARS

Smiths Falls, ON - The Navan Grads improved to 3-0-0-0 on the season with a 4-1 win on the road Friday at against the Smiths Falls Bears (1-2-0-0).

The line of Blake Hall (‘03), Gabriel Crete (‘03) and Ryan Burke (‘03) combined for all four Grads goals to lead the way offensively on Friday night. Hall recorded his first CCHL Hat Trick and added 1 helper while Gabriel Crete had 1 goal & 3 assists.

It was the Bears that would strike first, as Alec Hamady opened the scoring just 12 seconds into the opening frame. Blake Hall evened the score 1-1 at 17:37 of the first period when he slammed home a rebound from a Joseph Ianniello ('04) shot from the point.

At 2:44 of the second period, Hall streaked down the wing and hit Crete with the cross crease pass; Crete scored his 3rd of the season to give the Grads a 2-1 lead. The trio of Hall, Crete and Burke teamed up again at 5:59 when Hall made it 3-1 Navan; a lead the Grads took into the dressing room after two periods.

In the 3rd period, Hall completed the Hat Trick when he ripped home a pass from Crete on a 2 vs. 1 to give the Grads a 4-1 lead. Goaltender Ben West (‘03) was stellar between the pipes stopping 27/28 shots to earn his 3rd consecutive win of the 21-22 season.

The Grads are back in action Sunday afternoon when they host the Ottawa Jr. Senators (3-0-0-0) at the Navan Memorial Centre. Game time is 3:30pm.
