NAVAN, ON – The Navan Grads of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Alexandre Hogue (’01) has committed to Carleton University and the Carleton Ravens Men’s Hockey Club (USPORTS) for the 2022-2023 season.

Hogue, a 20-year-old from Embrun, Ontario has been an offensive catalyst on the blue line during his second season with the Navan Grads. The veteran defenseman currently leads all CCHL defenseman in scoring by averaging 1.08 points-per-game by registering 7 goals, 20 assists and 27 points in 25 games played. Earlier this season Hogue was named to the CCHL All-Star team and recorded 2 assists versus the Ottawa Gee-Gees Men’s Hockey Club.

Hogue is thrilled about the opportunity to join the Carleton Ravens program next season, he said “I’m thrilled to join such a great program and to play at home in front of family and friends. I’m grateful for the Navan Grads to give me an opportunity to showcase my craft and to put me in the situation where I’m at today. I’m very excited to get things going next year.”

Prior to Navan, Hogue played the 2019-2020 season for the Gatineau Olympiques in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and two full seasons with the Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). A graduate of the Navan Grads U18 program (formerly the Cumberland Grads U18); Hogue was named the HEO Player of the Year, HEO Top Defenseman and was selected in the 2nd Round, 37th overall by the Sarnia Sting in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Navan Grads Head Coach and General Manager Marty Abrams offered his congratulations to Hogue on his commitment to Carleton University, “Our program is thrilled with Hogie’s decision to continue his career with Carleton University. Since his arrival in Navan, he has elevated both our play on the ice, and the profile of our organization off the ice. To continue his education and play for an excellent program like the Ravens was a goal of his and we are proud of his accomplishment. We are equally proud that Hogie will finish his junior career as a Navan Grad and we expect his influence on our program will last for years to come.”
