Dear Potential Participant,

The Navan Grads Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in the 45th annual Navan Grads Junior ‘A’ Main Camp being held June 8th-10th, 2018 in Orleans, Ontario.  Each player will receive a MINIMUM of 3 games and 4.5 hours of ice time. Space is limited and based on invitation only. This camp is an excellent opportunity for you to display whether you have the ability and potential to help our team at the Junior ‘A’ level while furthering your own development. The camp is open to players born between 1998 and 2003. Each participant will meet with our staff and receive evaluations and feedback based on his performance.

The Navan Grads play in the Central Canada Tier 1 Hockey League, which is made up of twelve teams throughout the Ottawa region.  We play a 62-game regular season schedule prior to playoffs. The eventual league champions will have the opportunity to compete at the Royal Bank Cup, Canada’s National Junior ‘A’ Championship.  The league is heavily scouted by the NHL, NCAA Division I and III schools from the United States, Canadian Universities and the OHL.  To further expose our players, we have several league promotions such as our CCHL Showcase, the CJHL Prospects Game and the Eastern Canada Cup. Our players will also be eligible for selection to Team Canada East and participate in the 2018 World Junior ‘A’ Hockey Challenge in December.

Head Coach and General Manager Marty Abrams comes to the Grads having coached over 1000 Junior A games primarily with the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL, recently passing the 700 wins mark. Under his watch his teams made the playoffs 17 consecutive seasons in the OJHL, capturing two Buckland Cup league titles, two Dudley-Hewitt Central Canada Region Championships and two Royal Bank Cup appearances. Internationally, Abrams has represented Canada 7 times, including 6 times being named to Team Canada East Staff at the World Junior A Challenge. A former OHL Head Coach he has coached over 300 players he who have moved on to the NCAA, OHL, QMJHL, CIS and Pro hockey including the NHL.

As an organization, we are also very proud of our record of player development.  Our alumni currently play in many professional hockey leagues, including: Claude Giroux (Philadelphia Flyers) NHL, David Pacan (Syracuse Crunch) AHL, Danny Taylor (Belleville Senators) AHL, Jason Akeson (Mora IK) SHL, and Eric O’Dell (HK Sochi/Team Canada) KHL, amongst several others playing in the NCAA, CIS, OHL and QMJHL.  Their successes are, in part, a testament to our value in player development.
